The Process Hand painting silk can be arduous; however, the results are extremely pleasing. The silk becomes a durable wearable piece of art or a wall hanging.  Create an outline design on paper.  Stretch silk on a frame.  Trace the design using Gutta resist.  Paint in a watercolor style with dyes.  Steam set for 2-3 hours.  Remove Gutta resist by dry-cleaning or remove water-based resist by rinsing in water.  Iron scarf on silk setting.
